With all the sadness over in Haiti it amazes me that there is still miracles happening everyday. As I was sketching this piece I was watching the news and of course they were showing how they pulled a woman out alive after 15 days and I thought in all that darkness there is light. So thats where the candle came in with the cross. The piece that I was inspired by was from a picture in a magazine "The best of drawing" it was a lady just sitting in darkness called "Etude" by Sherry Camhy and on the other side of the page was some candles also painted by her. Then later on in the week I was bloghopping and found "Have a Heart for Haiti". I posted the link on the side, please check it out and maybe you too could help in some way. I have been saying to my husband ever since it happened that I wish there was more I could do besides pray for those people, I really wanted to adopt one of those poor children that lost their parents in the earthquake but my husband was'nt to crazy about that idea so I'm doing this instead. I don't know what I'm going to make yet but I can't wait to get started. I already have some ideas running through my head!

Buffy, this is an amazing piece!
Buffy, After I read you comment on my blog, I came straight here, and I have to tellyou that I was in tears by the time the time I finished reading your post. Your art is quite beautiful, and I'm sure that someone will treasure anything you create. I think your Past, Present, and Future page would be a wonderful composition for a painting, and your portraits below *especially the top one) remind me very much of the faces I saw in some Haitian folk art paintings yesterday. You are so talented and so beuatiful for letting yur light shine to help the people of Haiti. If you'll send me your email address, I will keep you posted, blessed one.
Love,
Kathy
