She art, spoon, book and another good drawing site.

So I'm loving Christy Tomilinson's new class "She art". This is one of my finished ones but the girls arent suppose to have faces but I just couldnt help myself. I promised myself that the next one is not gonna have a face!

I'm still on a sketching roll but I only have one spoon to show because the others are just blahhhhh. But I also have another drawing site to share. http://www.fivepencilmethod.com/ theres some great tutorials on there about faces. I only watched the lip video and it was really detailed. Most of the tutorials are free but he also has some to purchase which I didnt. And one more thing I wanted to share is a book that I checked out of the library. Its called drawing for the absolute and utter beginner by claire watson garcia. Let me just say that I check out alot of books on drawing and this was the first one that I actually started at the beginning and have learned lots. I think because most books on drawing have about two chapters just on supplies and how to use them and this one goes over alittle of that but she has exercises right from the beginning. I'm hoping that I can buy the book from amazon but I havent checked yet. Hope everybody is starting to warm up! Have a great week!

Love your she art girl--I really like how we put our own style into it. I really like the faceless girls--they have an expression even without the face--I think it's all the background and colors that bring them to life.

I just bought that book a couple of weeks ago, and I'm planning on taking it with me when we leave this weekend to visit our son in NYC! :)

Your she art is wonderful, and I can see how it would be hard not to add a face! Also thank you for the info on the book.

I'm so glad you're still so passionate about learning that you take the time to research books in the library. This is what makes great artists! All of this matters Buffy, the great drawings the just so ones and the duds all get you to where you want to be.
Beautiful new work!
