Christmas ornament.

Found these metal knobs of some sort at a local thrift store. They reminded me of snowflakes. I used an image from lisa's altered art and then I spun some metalic thread and attached it to the metal thing to make a cute ornament. Precious!!!

sewing paper...

Just got some new paper from a scrapbook store in town. Had to make something with it. The background is the back of the paper and the girl was on the front of the paper. I used a vintage collar and some vintage buttons, also on the side which is hard to see I attached some old pattern paper.

"Innocent"

This is titled "Innocent". I love vintage pictures of children. They look so innocent. No problems, No worries, I often think of what kind of childhood they had? Was it one to remember like their mom baking homemade cookies, reading bedtime stories, home cooked meals, sit down dinners, hand sewn dresses or was it a bad childhood with no fond memories..... My childhood was one to remember even though I'm not close to my mother now, I do remember her walking me to school, home cooked meals, family vacations, the smell of my lunchbox at lunchtime. (Even though it was usually peanut butter and jelly) but it did have a special kind of smell. I miss those innocent times when there was no mistakes made yet and you were "Innocent".

"Vogue"

Wednesday stamper challenge

This is my "wednesday stamper" challenge. The challenge was thinking cap. Mine is titled "Vogue". I used a glazing technique then stamped over the glaze.Under the girl is a clipping that reads "vogue leading style or fashion". Sorry I take terrible pictures.

Theme Thursday Altered Card

Theme Thursday art challenge!

Hi, I've been staying home alot and doing lots of "ART". I just figured out how to post it. I'm not to good with the computer!! This is a challenge I did for Theme Thursday. Fun site. I ususally do the theme but never post them so hopefully I'm doing this right so I can keep on posting. Any way back to the art. I used a picture from Lisa's altered art,( I'm gonna be posting her link to. She has some adorable collage sheets and is the nicest. ) an old bingo card and some neat stuff from artchix studios. Thats also a great place to buy some original art supplies. I'm also proud to be a member of their group. I'm listing list tomorrow on ebay.
An update on baby "Austin" he's doing really good and we were expecting him home next week but they have to do surgery on him on friday to fix his wound. I know not to many people read this but if you are please say some prayers for him and my daughter.

Baby Austin!!!

I know its been a long time but I've been busy! My oldest daughter had a baby but he was nine weeks early. That was scary enough. And not to mention the fact that it was very hard to go back and fourth to the hospital plus babysitting her 10 month old at night so her and her husband could go back to the hospital but as I was complaining about all this ,things changed , the baby got whats called NEC disease which is basically ulsers in the intestines. Long story short I wish I could go back to those times when I was going back and forth to the hospital because now he's in critical condition and not to mention the fact that he had his whole large intestine and 1/3 of his small intestine taking out. What lies ahead for this little Angel? Only God knows. We keep praying for a miracle and I know God can do miracles! My daughter has been amazing through all this. I actually admire her, she's so strong in her faith in God and she always says "God has his reasons" no matter what happens mom" I can't even imagine what she is going through even though I'm here as she is going through it. As a mom you always want to make the pain go away and I know that as I watch her heart breaking theres nothing that I can do to fix it,no words,no hugs,Nothing and that breaks my heart!!!

(Before the Ball) thats what I feel like! I made homemade sause at 8am,while that was simmering I cleaned the whole house(top and bottom floors) Did six loads of wash and still going.Made meatballs 32 to be exact! Walk the dogs twice already. I could'nt wait to be done so I could start createing but after I took a shower and had lunch at 3.00 I forgot that I had to make a cake for dessert so I start getting all the ingredients together and would'nt you know it I'm out of eggs so off to the grocery store I go. I'M TIRED so before the cake gets done I decide to have a cup of coffee and blog!!!! At least I got to do one thing that I wanted to. I know I won't have any more free time. Family is coming over at 6.30! Still have to bake the cake, make a salad and set the table. Oh the dryer just went off ,another load to fold!!! UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Sweet Magnolias and a Chocolate pound cake!

I just thought I would show you what I did all morning! BAKED!! The cookies are Reeces peanut butter cup cookies, I got the recipe from my good friends Jennifer Appel and Allysa Torey over at the Magnolia Bakery in Greenwich Village in new york city! Actually I don't even know them but I do love their recipes and the way the bakery is decorated. All Vintage!! So as far as I'm concerned if you bake as good as them and you decorate with vintage stuff then I consider you a friend. If you like to bake then I suggest getting their cookbook "The magnolia Bakery cookbook" Delicious recipes! Then theres the yummy chocolate poundcake. Which I got the recipe from a good friend. This cake always goes over well at all kind of get togethers. If you would like the recipe just email me and I'll be happy to give it to you.

My daughter Niki had a softball party this afternoon and I volunteered to bake desserts. Of course I have to include something vintage into my day so I used a vintage green glass cake stand and then a crystal tray for the cookies. My husband thought it was crazy to bring them to the pool but all went well and the kids had fun.

A Thrift Store Find!

So, I've been nagging my son for a month now to help me start a blog(because I'm not so great at the computer)and finally the moment I had been waiting for "he takes an hour out of his time to help me"(Thanks Michael). I can now start to blog!!! But as I sit in front of the computer for three days now trying to think about what to blog about, where to start and nothing is coming to me so I think okay I'll create something and put it on my blog and again nothing ugggggggggg. Now in between looking at the computer and folding clothes I decide to do alittle bit of decorating with some of my thrift store finds that I hoard(I mean collect). I have a guest room that is filled to the brim with junk(great finds). (I keep the door closed so my husband does'nt see it). After I finish decorating alittle it finally comes to me I'll blog about my thrift store finds! There I did it my official first BLOG!!! Yeah!!!! Oh and I guess I better post a picture of something too. I took an old vintage white wicker handbag and made it into a unique vase for some dried roses and some fake ones. I knew I would use that handbag someday. I always buy what I like and then find something to do with it later.
