A little pumpkin painting...

and some pumpkin sketching. I thought a banana was hard to sketch but a pumpkin was a challenge! I know its been awhile since I was here but I really haven't painted much,I think I'm taking alittle break from it but I'm still being creative. Lately I have been all over the place with art and not really getting much done. Trying new things, being inspired by different artists. Taking a few online classes, trying to find myself,my way of doing things. I want my own style, I don't want people to look at my art and say oh she must of took a class from so and so. I want people to look at my art and say I like YOUR style, its different. You know what I mean? I visit and follow so many blogs daily and I always see everybodys unique style and thats what I want. I think the only way to find that is just keep creating, try different things, different styles, Does anybody else ever feel this way? I think thats why I don't post that much because everything I make reminds me to much of somebody elses art. Well anyway enough of my whining, hopefully I'll be back sooner then later!

Cute little pumpkin, I think if you do and do and keep on with whatever subjct matter you love you come to that place you want to be. As I look at youar work I don't think I ever made a comparision to someone else. We have to do wahat moves us most I think.

I can definitely relate Buffy. I see so many people just doing Kelly Rae copies and copies of other artists too. I think that's great when you're just learning but I really want to have work that is uniquely my own. Keep creating sister, you seem to have a passion for it and that's what it takes. :)

Hi Buffy! Lovin' your cute pumpkin! They are not easy to sketch.

I so relate to this post. I've taken a lot of online classes, the past couple of years, and often get confused as to what I'm achieving....is it me or the instructor????? I'm still struggling with faces - they're hard but am relaxing a bit, lately, discovering my own way of painting them. It's kind of the lazy way but can't take all the layering - I don't have the time. After all - I'm not a portrait artist. But; combining what I've learned, has lead me to my comfort zone. Most of my faces are hard looking and not happy but I have feeling that's the way they are supposed to be. That's what comes out.

Funny but I can so recognize your art - yours and yours alone - Buffy's paintings! I do love them! I hope you keep on painting! xxoo
