Bad Art!!!!

They say practice, practice, practice and you will improve,HUH I have been practicing, practicing, and practicing and still no improvement, Bad art over and over! Can you tell I'm frustrated. All weekend I have been painting (well in between grocery shopping and cleaning the house, making a roastbeef for the whole family to come over tonight plus making homemade chicken salad and macaroni salad for lunch today and tomorrow. And twenty loads of laundry ok maybe not that many) and this is the only thing showable,(is that a word??) the other two are just going in the trash! Back to work tomorrow Wahhhhhhh!

I actually think this is pretty cool, Buffy. I love your ideas--I can never come up with things like this. I've been painting my Suzi face today, and the more I do, the more fustrated I get. I don't like doing these 3/4 views AT ALL. I don't think I ever will. The more you keep working at it, the more distorted it starts to look. So, I just said--stop and went to our beach here (our town is right on Lake Erie) We went for a walk on the bike trail there, which is the whole length of the beach/park--9 miles (we didn't go that far :) and then after the healthy walk, we went to the hamburger and shake restaurant there (the best in town) and ruined all of that healthy lifestyle. And speaking of which, can I have some of that food that your making :)

Buffy honey, this is wonderful!! I love everything about it, the color, the imagery you used, everything!!!

I just read your comment, I know what you mean about God working, I had no intention of posting what I did till this afternoon. God knew what was needed. I also know about friendships and walls!!! I hate to be hurt - but I am learning that when I close myself off to protect myself it eventually prevents me from loving as well as receiving love!!

Hey, go have that lunch. :)

I love the look of your art, Buffy. It's your style and it's wonderful. I love the distressed look of all your paintings (hey, that;s a good thing!!!) and don't get frustrated. You just have expectations that you don't think you are meeting. Actually, I do that all the time. Keep creating!!!!!

There is no such thing as bad art. It's all practice! There's nothing wrong with this but I know how you feel as my Muse is on vacation. It's because I am so tired, suddenly art is a chore which it never should be! Still, the reason I am busy is that I am working and earning money to pay the bills, so it's good stuff too!

I think it looks really good - what do you mean bad art?! There is no bad art, right? Sometimes you don't like something, but if you come back to it later, it all changes... perhaps just a point of view or you need time to brew over it, you know?! Hope it all turns out good :)

Buffy, I promise it's true:Your practice is paying off. Your piece has a lovely atmosphere about it and your style is emerging. I think we all get frustrated sometimes.

Buffy: I like your dream-like style. This is not what I would call "bad art" at all. Very imaginative and symbolic.

And yes, life interrupts us all sometimes. In my case grading papers for final projects, thesis proposals from students, my demanding cat, etc., etc.

Have a good weekend!
