Did you ever have those weeks?

You know the ones where everything you try to do,just doesnt come out! Well thats what has been happening to me,and actually its been the last two weeks! I'm in the mood as my husband calls it. I can't get nothing done because I keep trying to paint and the more I mess things up the more I want to paint. Finally I decided to go to my sketch book and try to paint one of my sketches which is the girl reading the book, and what do you know she came out ok,not one of my best but I'm happy with her. The other girl is from a dream I had, that girl was worked over at least four times! Hopefully now I can get some wash done and maybe some more painting! And I hope to be back sooner then later.....

yes, i know that feeling very well Buffy. i don't like to walk away from my studio feeling i have taken steps backwards and not forward...but i am learning that sometimes i have to just set the thing aside and be okay with not liking it at the moment. sometimes the more i try to fix it, the more i can't in those frenzied moments.

your pieces came out lovely by the way.

Hello, I like both of your paintings. They seems like everyday happenings.(the situations) Did you draw them first? I'm doing this challenge during August to paint a face a day. Sometimes it works and sometimes not at all.

I like them both! On the others maybe you just think you messed up but other people would not, you are being too critical, I think.

Yes, I know exactly what you mean. I worked on a piece all day last week, and finally said--forget it--it can be fustrating--you think you'll never be happy with your art again, but then the next time around something good happens.
I love how your art is evolving!
...and when you're done doing some household chores--you can come here and help me do mine :)
P.S. I hung your painting up--it looks really good!!

Oh yes, I have those days too. The more determined I am to paint, the more distracted I get -
Anyway, both of these are great, I love the colors and the 'mood' you've achieved.

Aaaaah Buffy I have felt like that all my life and I hit something like a barrier all the time. Mine is to do with not having enough time to sit by myself and just paint. I am too busy with my family and day to day work and life. So when I get the time to sit, it always feels like I should be doing something else I then get fustrated with what I am creating but I just know one day I will be happy with whatever comes out of the end of my fingers!
Btw everything you have made I adore and I think you will go a very long way so keep it up.
